The 32-year-old man was taken to the Alor Setar Court Complex in a police van at about 8.36 am.

He is expected to be charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

It was previously reported that a woman who is a single mother of two children was seriously injured in the neck after being stabbed by a male acquaintance in a car in front of a restaurant in Jalan Titi Gajah at about 9.19 pm on May 17.

The stabbing incident occurred in a Mazda car with the victim in the driver's seat, while the suspect was in the front passenger seat.
