THE Jempol District and Land Office Candidate Nomination Centre stole the attention when PAS President, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, was seen shaking hands with UMNO Secretary-General, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The brief meeting took place when both leaders were present to accompany their respective party candidates for the nomination process in conjunction with the State Election (PRN).

Abdul Hadi and Asyraf were seen shaking hands and exchanging greetings in a friendly manner amidst the presence of supporters and party workers who filled the nomination centre area.

The incident also attracted the attention of media personnel and the public when the two political leaders from different parties showed professionalism and mutual respect.

Three candidates are contesting in the Palong DUN, namely the incumbent, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor (BN), who will be challenged by Zahin Zinal Abidin from Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Rebin Birham (BERSATU).

Meanwhile, in the Jeram Padang DUN, BN is fielding the incumbent, Datuk Zaidy Abdul Kadir, who will face G Manivannan (PH), R Sri Sanjeevan (BERSATU) and Dayana Dal (Parti Asli).

In the Bahau DUN, BN is fielding MCA candidate, Chong Fui Ming, who will face the incumbent, Teo Kok Seong from PH. – July 18, 2026
