NEARLY a year after her son was allegedly attacked and injected with a syringe outside a shopping centre in Putrajaya, the wife of former Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says the family has yet to receive any fresh updates on the case.
Rafizi’s wife, who uses the Threads account @fishaofish, said the incident came back to mind after she watched a video of content creator and football critic Azizurrahman Zakaria, also known as Joe Zakaria, being attacked on July 11.
She said the video triggered memories of the incident involving her son, claiming the method used in both cases appeared similar.
“My son was also attacked (injected in the hand) when we were entering our car at the waiting area in front of a shopping centre in Putrajaya.
“In a few days, it will be almost a year since the incident. I was traumatised watching the video because the MO was the same — two people on a motorcycle, stopping beside the car and shouting at me after the suspect released my son,” she said.
She said her son, who was below 12 years old at the time, suffered two puncture marks on his arm and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
However, she said a medical examination conducted six months later found her son to be in good health.
“Alhamdulillah, there was nothing. Only two puncture marks on his arm, and his health check-up after six months was fine,” she said.
She claimed the attack was meant to send a message to her husband, alleging that the suspect turned her son around and injected him in front of her so she could see what happened.
“The suspect also shouted, ‘I’ll inject you’. There were many people there, and coincidentally, there was a security officer next to me,” she said.
She said the security officer was initially unaware of what had happened until CCTV footage from the area was checked.
However, she claimed the family has yet to be allowed to view the recording.
“When the security officer checked the CCTV, only then did they know what had happened. But until today, we still have not been able to see the CCTV footage,” she said.
In another response on social media, she claimed her family had no issues with any individual but believed the incident was connected to people who had problems with her husband.
“There was no problem with that person, but people with power had a problem with my husband. So they sent people to threaten me by hurting my child, who was not even 12 years old at the time,” she alleged.
Rafizi had on Aug 13 last year said his son was attacked by two men wearing black clothes and helmets while the family was entering their vehicle at a shopping centre in Putrajaya.
He said his son was pulled over before being injected with a syringe, while checks found that two men on a motorcycle were believed to have followed his wife’s vehicle.
Rafizi had described the incident as a warning linked to his vocal stance on several issues. – August 10, 2026
