THE Negeri Sembilan government has given 17 Pakatan Harapan (PH) assemblymen and two former DUN coordinators 30 days to repay outstanding allocations following the dissolution of the state assembly.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said repayment notices were issued by his office yesterday, with the amount owed varying between the recipients.
“The Menteri Besar’s Office issued the notices yesterday to all the PH representatives. The amounts differ.
“They have been given 30 days to repay the money to the state government,” he told reporters after the state executive council meeting here today.
The issue involves allocations received by the representatives for periods extending beyond the dissolution of the state assembly on June 5.
The 17 assemblymen comprise seven former executive councillors and 10 ordinary assemblymen.
Earlier, it was reported that each executive councillor was required to return RM150,000 for the August and September period, while ordinary assemblymen were asked to return RM174,000 covering July to September.
The two DUN coordinators were also required to return RM150,000 each for the July to September period.
Ismail said those figures represented the total allocations disbursed to the respective representatives and should not be taken as the final amount owed by each individual.
He said the state government would take further action against those who failed to settle the outstanding amount within the 30-day period.
“As I said before, former menteri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has already made full payment. We have sent letters to the others,” he said.
Ismail also disclosed that Nilai assemblyman J Arul Kumar had raised the matter with him when the two met during a rehearsal for the National Day celebrations at the Seremban City Council field.
He said Arul had asked for consideration on the repayment of the allocation.
The repayment demand follows the dissolution of the state assembly and the conclusion of the previous state administration’s term. – September 2, 2026
