A COALITION of Malay-Muslim groups today reaffirmed its support for Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, with its representative delivering a pledge of loyalty to the Ruler after Friday prayers here.
Gabungan Islam Se-Malaysia secretariat chairman Che Rus Husin made the pledge at Masjid Jamek Bahau, where Tuanku Muhriz had joined more than 300 worshippers for Friday prayers.
The Ruler was accompanied by Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin.
The congregation earlier heard a sermon titled “Beruntunglah Orang Yang Menyucikan Jiwanya”, before the prayers were led by Suhaimi Mohamad.
Che Rus said the pledge represented Gabungan Melayu Islam Malaysia and more than 30 other non-governmental organisations.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, he said the dispute surrounding the state had gone on for too long and was causing confusion among the public, not only in Negeri Sembilan but elsewhere in the country.
He said the coalition hoped the matter would be resolved in accordance with Negeri Sembilan’s customs and the law, in the interest of preserving peace and the well-being of the people. – September 25, 2026
