KOTA KINABALU – Warisan has rubbished claims that the party has decided to support the Perikatan Nasional government.

A statement with the party’s letterhead stating Warisan’s support for PN, which had made the rounds on social media, has since been declared as false.

The statement claimed that Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal had made the call to back the government following an emergency meeting yesterday afternoon, in which it discussed the Umno Supreme Council’s decision to officially pull its support for the Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin-led administration.

Warisan secretary-general Datuk Loretto Padua posted on Facebook today that the party is denying the legitimacy of the statement, alleging that the Community Communications Department (JKOM) may be behind it.

Warisan’s denial also comes on the heels of another fake statement allegedly issued by Pejuang last night on the latter throwing its support behind Muhyiddin and the PN administration. – The Vibes, August 4, 2021
