KUALA LUMPUR – As more meetings are scheduled ahead of the 4pm deadline by Istana Negara for MPs to submit statutory declarations on their prime minister of choice, leaders from Umno, other Barisan Nasional parties, as well as PAS are converging on Menara Dato Onn here.

PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, vice-president Idris Ahmad and central committee member Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali arrived at 11.36am.

BN adviser Datuk Seri Najib Razak was allowed by the Kuala Lumpur High Court to adjourn his 1Malaysia Development Bhd hearing to attend the meet.

He is said to have arrived before 11.30am.

3.50pm: Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani leaves.

“What is there to comment? Wait for Istana to make the decision,” he told reporters briefly.

1.57pm: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin arrives, telling the press: “Just a normal meeting.”

1.54pm: It is believed that Najib has left. His official vehicle was no longer seen at the building at 1.50pm.

Najib left via the basement instead of the usual entrance. His 1MDB trial is set to resume at 2.30pm.

1.40pm: Umno veteran Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad enters the building.

12.17pm: Takiyuddin leaves. He refuses to address reporters, only saying: “Not now.” – The Vibes, August 18, 2021
