KUALA LUMPUR – Another suspected Abu Sayyaf terrorist has been cuffed by the Philippine police after the 30-year-old arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila from Malaysia on Thursday night.
Known as Hajar Binadbul Mubin, he arrived at the airport’s Terminal 3 and was taken into custody at 11.30pm, Philippine Star reported Southern Police District (SPD) director Jimili Macaraeg as saying.
The suspected terrorist is wanted for kidnapping and has been on the run since 2012 after a warrant was issued by the Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court Branch 15.
Currently, Hajar is held at the SPD jail in Manila after the court denied bail.
Just last month, Abu Sayyaf militant commanders Almujer Yadah and Bensito Quitino, accused of killing tourists in the Philippines and Sabah, surrendered to Philippine security forces in Jolo town, southern Sulu.
They are accused of beheading two Canadian tourists, Robert Hall and John Ridsdel as the ransom was not paid. – The Vibes, July 9, 2022
