KUALA LUMPUR – PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has promised to reveal tomorrow documents that will allegedly prove special functions minister Datuk Abdul Latiff Ahmad’s wife, Zainab Mohd Salleh, is linked to the littoral combat ships (LCS) scandal.

“God-willing, it will be clearer why the internal investigation report named Latiff Ahmad as ‘spouse’ to Zainab Mohd Salleh.

“I’ve been proven right so many times,” Rafizi said on Facebook, referring to his previous exposes on major scandals such as the National Feedlot Corporation, Felda and 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

He said Latiff’s denial earlier today that Zainab was his wife was “very weak”.

“He only denied that Zainab Mohd Salleh is not his wife by referring to a viral news report.

“It so happens that a netizen made the mistake of naming Dialog Bhd’s chief financial officer as being involved in the LCS scandal.

“We all know that he (Latiff) isn’t the husband of the Dialog CFO,” Rafizi said, adding that the woman linked to the LCS project is a different individual, although with the same name.

Rafizi said the documents he will reveal tomorrow will prove that Latiff is married to the Zainab Mohd Salleh he claimed is a shareholder of Malta-based Alizes Marine Ltd.

The offshore incorporated company allegedly transferred funds from the LCS project to accounts overseas in fraudulent transactions amounting to RM23.37 million.

The PKR politician revealed Latiff’s and Zainab’s names in connection to the LCS controversy earlier today.

Hours later, Latiff categorically denied that “Zainab Mohd Salleh” is his wife.

Latiff, a former Umno lawmaker, was deputy defence minister from 2008 to 2013, during the earlier days of the LCS project.

Dialog Group, as well as the daughter of its CFO, also clarified that the Zainab Mohd Salleh working at the company is not the same person Rafizi has linked to the LCS project. – The Vibes, August 22, 2022
