KUALA LUMPUR – A source from the Kota Baru Municipal Council has confirmed the authenticity of a letter purportedly written by Bachok MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz requesting the local authority for manpower to help out at his daughter’s wedding.

The letter, which was widely shared, was said to also ask the municipal council for tables and chairs, among others.

According to the source, the items requested were sent to the venue after instructions were issued by the council’s top management. Other requested services were waste management and traffic control.

“The letter was really from YB (Nik Abduh).

“We received instructions today to deliver tables, chairs, and floral decorations for his daughter’s event tomorrow,” the source told Getaran, The Vibes’ sister portal.

Getaran has also reached out to Nik Abduh for comment.

The letter dated September 20 sent by the Bachok lawmaker was purportedly received by council president Rosnazli Amin two days later.

The wedding is expected to be held tomorrow at Masjid Tok Guru and SMU (A) Darul Anuar in Kota Baru, from 11am to 5pm.

However, netizens were quick to criticise the lawmaker, alleging that he misused public services and equipment for a private event.
