ALOR STAR – Kuala Nerang assemblyman Mohamad Yusoff @ Munir Zakaria has been appointed as the new Kedah state executive councillor for the public works, water supply, water resources and energy portfolio.

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said Sultan of Kedah Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah had approved the appointment to replace Sg Tiang assemblyman Datuk Suraya Yaacob, from Umno, who resigned from the post on October 13.

“The swearing-in ceremony before His Royal Highness the sultan of Kedah took place at the Audience Hall, Istana Anak Bukit at about 11am,” he told a press conference at Wisma Darul Aman here today.

Sanusi said he hoped that all parties would cooperate with Yusoff to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him.

Meanwhile, Yusoff, 58, a Kedah PAS Liaison Committee member, expressed his gratitude to the Kedah ruler and menteri besar for the appointment and promised to discharge his duties to the best of his ability. – Bernama, November 10, 2022
