MIRI – Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) today challenged Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg to reveal the amount left in the state’s reserves.
Saying the people had a right to know, party president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh also asked Johari, the state’s finance minister, to reveal how much the state had transferred to the Development Bank of Sarawak.
“Sarawak United People's Party president Datuk Seri Sim Kui Hian recently revealed that the state reserves stood at about RM10 billion.
“He said the state is proud to have RM10 billion in revenue. However, RM10 billion is not really much as Sarawak is supposed to be very rich.
“PSB and the people in Sarawak want to know the exact figure without delay,” Wong, who is the PSB candidate for Sibu, told a press conference today.
Wong claimed that a lot of money had been transferred from the state reserves to the Development Bank of Sarawak.
“Once the money is taken out from the state reserves, state leaders cannot say the money is still state revenue,” he said.
Wong is challenging DAP incumbent Oscar Ling and GPS candidate Clarence Ting in the Sibu hot seat, which DAP has been controlling for the past three terms. – The Vibes, November 13 2022
