ROMPIN – The Perikatan Nasional candidate for the Tioman state seat in Johor, Md Yunus Ramli, died early this morning. Yunus, 61, is believed to have died at 3.30am due to heart complications, Sinar Harian reported. 

He was participating in the 15th general election which is being held today.

Yunus is the second person registered to contest in this general election to pass away before polling.

Pakatan Harapan’s M. Karupaiya, who was scheduled to defend his Padang Seari parliamentary seat in Kedah, succumbed to a heart attack on November 16. The Election Commission has since revised the date of voting for Padang Serai, with nomination and polling to be held later. – The Vibes, November 19, 2022
