SUBANG – Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau is confident that Perikatan Nasional (PN) will be able to form a government with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Lau said this was based on the ongoing positive relationship between the parties.

“We are working with GPS and GRS to achieve a majority. This would not be the first time,” he said when met after the PN viewing party at Glenmarie Golf and Country Resort here.

“When (PN chairman) Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was the eighth prime minister, he also worked closely with GPS. They know PN’s style.

“I am positive they (GPS and GRS) will have a good coalition relationship with PN to form a government.”

Lau’s comment came after Muhyiddin spoke at a press conference here, saying that PN will hold discussions with Sabah and Sarawak party leaders to work together in forming a government.

Gerakan is among five parties that contested under the PN logo for the 15th general election.

The other parties are Bersatu, PAS, SAPP, and STAR.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Mas Ermieyati Samsudin echoed Lau, saying that “it is the right time for PN to move forward and to put the people first”.

“With the right strategy and coalition of the few parties, I think he (Muhyiddin) is the best candidate we can get to form the new government,” said Mas Ermieyati, who won a majority of 4,411 votes at the Masjid Tanah constituency. – The Vibes, November 20, 2022
