KUALA LUMPUR – The Prime Minister’s Department today clarified that the news doing the rounds on social media titled “Ismail Sabri dilantik pengerusi Petronas” (Ismail Sabri appointed Petronas chairman) is false.

It also reminded the public not to spread or share any unverified information.

The department in its Facebook post also urged the public to refer to its social media accounts for verified news, namely the Jabatan Perdana Menteri page on Facebook, the Twitter profile @jpmgov, the Instagram page @jabatanperdanamenteri, and the TikTok profile @jpmgov.

Earlier a poster went viral on social media showing a picture of the meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his predecessor Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob with some information claiming that the former had in principle agreed to the appointment of the latter as Petronas chairman. – Bernama, December 7, 2022
