KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis, who is among those coordinating the search and rescue operations for the Batang Kali landslide, has been rushed to the hospital due to a health emergency.

The department, in a statement, said Norazam was sent to the Selayang hospital at about 6pm this evening due to exhaustion and after experiencing a minor stroke.

It said that his condition is still “under control” and that he was still conscious despite the health complication.

“The operations to search for the (landslide) victims are still ongoing,” the department said in the brief statement.
