JASIN – A senior citizen was believed to have been murdered during a robbery in her house at Kg Pulai Darat, here at 2am this morning.

Police found the body of Misah Md Amin, 91, who is believed to have been living alone in the house, in the kitchen.

Jasin district acting police chief Mohd Fadzli Othman said police were informed about the incident by neighbours at about 3.54am.

“The senior citizen was pronounced dead by a medical team that arrived at the scene. The body was later sent to Jasin Hospital for post-mortem,” he said when contacted today.

Fadzli said acting on information from members of the public, police managed to detain a 20-year-old suspect who is unemployed about six hours later near the location.

He added that the suspect had three previous criminal records for robbery while the case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. – Bernama, January 20, 2023
