Anwar creates five-man body to advise him as finance minister

KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced the appointment of five experts to a special advisory body that will assist him with his functions as finance minister.

He said that the new body’s members are professionals and experts in the economic field.

They will not receive payment from the government for their work while serving on the body.

The body is headed by Petroliam Nasional Bhd adviser Tan Sri Hassan Marican.

The other members are FVSB executive chairman Datuk Ahmad Fuad Md Ali, Sunway University economics professor Yeah Kim Leng, Universiti Malaya economics professor Datuk Rajah Rasiah, and Sarawak Energy Bhd chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi.

“I reassert my stand that the appointed special advisory body will not receive any payment from the government,” Anwar said in a statement today. – The Vibes, February 7, 2023
