Engine troubles likely behind Cebu Pacific flight’s emergency landing at KKIA
The Cebu Pacific Air flight with 92 passengers and crew departed Cebu, Philippines, at 8pm yesterday and was scheduled to arrive in Singapore at midnight. KOTA KINABALU – An Airbus A320 operated by Cebu Pacific Air was forced to make an emergency landing at the international airport here (KKIA), believed to be caused by an engine malfunction.

The plane with 92 passengers and crew departed Cebu, Philippines, at 8pm yesterday and was scheduled to arrive in Singapore at midnight.

It is believed the aircraft had engine problems on the left side mid-flight, reported Harian Metro.

The pilot then performed an emergency landing at KKIA at 10.22pm.

Sabah Fire and Rescue deputy director Farhan Sufyan Borhan was quoted as saying that the plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.

The department received a call from the airport’s fire and rescue team at 9.49pm, and a team of firefighters and emergency medical services were sent to the location. – The Vibes, March 23, 2023
