KUALA LUMPUR – A 90-year-old Chinese man was rescued by members of the public after a tree fell on the nonagenarian’s house in Taman Hock Ann at Old Klang Road here today.

In a statement, the Kuala Lumpur Operations Centre said that the man suffered light injuries to his head and has been sent to the hospital for further treatment. 

According to operation commander Shahruddin Mat Nor, the man was saved by the public prior to Fire and Rescue Department personnel arriving at the scene. 

“The operations centre received a distress call on the incident at around 5pm, following which eight firefighters from the Seputeh fire station were dispatched,” the statement said. 

Earlier today at around 6pm, it was reported that fallen trees had damaged several houses and vehicles in Taman Hock Ann.

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has since informed media members that she will be visiting other victims affected by the disaster tomorrow at 11am. – The Vibes, April 25, 2023
