KOTA KINABALU – Sabah’s Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) party leader Datuk Peter Anthony has remained non-committal to talks of a so-called pact with the state’s opposition parties, Warisan and Sabah Umno.

He said the time is not right to form such pacts, as the party remains supportive of the federal unity government for now.

“The other parties can say whatever they want. But so far, we are with the prime minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim),” said Anthony when asked by reporters at a press conference here.

Talks have been circulating in the state that KDM would form a pact with both Warisan and Sabah Umno ahead of a state election scheduled some time in 2025.

KDM has also been rumoured to become part of the prospective political realignment, post-Sabah election in 2020.

According to him, he will also be heading to Selangor as a show of support to the unity government in the forthcoming state elections in the peninsula.

He said the party has a substantial number of supporters in Selangor.
