KUALA LUMPUR – Muhammad Noriswan Ishak, Muda’s candidate for the Repah seat in Negri Sembilan, has dropped out of the state election on the eve of nomination day.

The party in a statement this evening announced his withdrawal for “personal reasons” but did not give any reasons.

However, an old video clip of Noriswan had surfaced recently, which led social media users to accuse him of mocking people with disabilities.

“After discussions, he has made the decision to withdraw himself for personal reasons,” Muda’s elections committee said in the statement.

In the video clip, Noriswan, 32, complained about the lack of parking spaces at a mall, and had a friend of his act like a person with disabilities.

The video was an old clip from 2021, which was uploaded on Noriswan’s TikTok. He later apologised.

With this, Muda now has only one candidate in Negri Sembilan and 19 candidates in the state elections, with the bulk of them, 14, contesting in Selangor. – The Vibes, July 28, 2023
