KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan has dropped its initial candidate for Kota Damansara and will be nominating Izuan Ahmad Kasim instead.
In a statement last night, Selangor PKR chief Datuk Amirudin Shari said Izuan had received his letter of appointment to contest from party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Amirudin also thanked the coalition’s initial choice, Aidi Amin Yazid, for his services and dedication.
“Following numerous meetings and discussions, it was decided that Izuan Ahmad would represent PKR to defend the Kota Damansara seat in Selangor for the state election.
“Anwar has since given Izuan his appointment letter to solidify the voices of the young through Angkatan Muda Keadilan and to defend the Kota Damansara seat,” Amirudin said in the statement.
In the 2018 general election, Shatiri Mansor won the seat with a 15,703 majority in a four-cornered contest.
It was previously reported that Shatiri would be dropped in favour of a fresh face.
Izuan is expected to go up against Parti Sosialis Malaysia secretary-general A Sivarajan and Perikatan Nasional’s Radzlan Jalaludin. – The Vibes, July 29, 2023
