PETALING JAYA – Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid has always been supportive of her father, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, particularly through her Instagram posts.

The Wanita Umno executive councillor yesterday lamented how leaders would come and go but Umno would be inherited by those who are rude and have no manners.

On Instagram, she shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation in which someone had said: “If you meet Zahid and Lim Guan Eng (former finance minister), spit on Zahid first, then only on Guan Eng.”

The remark was given a thumbs up by another participant in the group chat. However, their names and numbers were covered.

“I hide your names so you will not be humiliated, just like Allah is testing us which Insya-Allah we can go through.

“May whatever move you make not affect your children and your future generations,” she said.

A few days ago, in the wake of Umno walking away from the recently concluded six state elections with only 19 seats, Nurulhidayah shared a post on her Instagram written by one “Jusoh Gobek”.

Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) remained relevant in the six-state elections following the cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH). On its own, BN, which entered the elections without the participation of its coalition partners MCA and MIC, contested in 108 seats but only won 19.

The general sentiment was that Zahid had to step down as Umno president.

Jusoh Gobek had written that politics was a game of perception. The writer used Zahid as an example, claiming that those he met who hated the Bagan Datuk MP could not provide a clear answer on why.

“The most they can say is because Zahid has court cases. When they say that, I say Mahiaddin (former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) too has court cases. Many other leaders are embroiled in court cases,” the writer said in the post shared by Nurulhidayah.

At this point, they would grow quiet and have nothing else to counter, the writer remarked.

In conclusion, the writer said he believed many were hating without valid reasons and were merely following others.

“DS Zahid Hamidi, just like DS Najib Razak (Datuk Seri Najib Razak), are victims of psychological warfare and political propaganda. That is the reality,” he said. – The Vibes, August 17, 2023
