PETALING JAYA – Judy Tan, the mother of missing teen Tan Yuen Hoon, yesterday penned a heartfelt message on Facebook to her daughter asking her for forgiveness for not having enough time for her and begging her to come home.
Her message, which she wrote in Chinese, read, “Daughter, since the day you left home and disappeared into the sea of people, as a mother, I have been a loser. I have tried my best to carry out my role, but due to the confusion one faces in life, I was unable to solve the problems with you and you chose to leave.
“I am really speechless now and don’t know how to face you. I love you very much and have given you everything I could. I hope you see my message someday and I ask you to forgive me…
“Forgive me for not being gentle enough and forgive me for not having enough time to be there for you. Please come back, my baby. Let us face the problems in life together. The road is still very long, and there will always be problems, but please don’t be afraid. I will stand in front of you and shield you from the wind and rain.”
Her message was also accompanied by two more photographs of her daughter.
Yuen Hoon, 17, was seen last Monday leaving home about 3pm wearing a grey hoodie and white pants.
Tan, who is 165cm tall, left without taking her handphone also missed school that particular day and a teacher said she saw her carrying small bags near a bus station at the Aeon Mall in Kepong at 3.30pm.
Judy has since appealed to the public to help locate her daughter and has also lodged a police report.
In the report, she revealed that her daughter had also left a note.
The note read, “Sorry mum. I am leaving home and please don’t look for me”.
Based on footage from the apartment’s CCTV, Yuen Hoon, who is a fifth-year student at a Chinese secondary school in Kepong left her home wearing a grey hoodie and white pants.
“Please help me find my daughter. I believe she ran away as she was too stressed over her studies. Please come home, whatever it is, we can talk about it,” pleaded Judy.
