BANGKOK – The body of a German real estate broker who went missing on July 4 was found dismembered and stuffed inside a freezer in a rental home in Chon Buri.

Police discovered the chopped-up body parts of Hans Peter Mack, 62, stuffed in trash bags and placed in the freezer late Monday.

Arrest warrants were issued yesterday on three individuals – two Germans and a Pakistani man holding Thai nationality – who were charged with colluding in theft and murder.

Chon Buri’s Nong Prue police commander Thavee Kudtang said the arrest warrants were issued after police examined CCTV footage.

He said one of the suspects was seen sitting in the back of a pickup truck and next to the freezer where Mack’s body was found.

“The investigation officers concluded that three suspects were involved,” he said.

Meanwhile, Superintendent at the Chon Buri provincial police office, Santi Kornkasem said one of the suspects surrendered at about 3pm (4pm Malaysian time) yesterday.

“The suspect contacted the police through a lawyer,” he said.

Mack was reported missing since July 4 after his 24-year-old Thai wife said he failed to return home after a business meeting.

Local media reported that the victim’s body was dismembered with the head, body and limbs separated and put in trash bags that were found in the 1.5m-long freezer. Police also found an electric saw, ropes, food seals and bottles of drinking water, soda and beer. – Bernama, July 12, 2023
