KUALA LUMPUR – Telekom Malaysia (TM) is reportedly offering voluntary separation schemes (VSS) to non-executive staff who are 50 and above, according to its annual report for 2022.
Free Malaysia Today, citing the report, said that 52% of TM's 19,499 employees are in the affected category.

The portal also said it has learnt that TM's target is to trim at least 500 employees whom the telco giant hopes will apply by the July 31 deadline.
FMT also cited the VSS documents which offer two schemes, one for those aged 50 to 54, and another for those aged 55 to 58.
For non-executives in the younger age bracket, they are offered one-and-a-half month’s basic salary for each year served capped at 36 months, and without any medical benefits.
For those in the older age bracket, the scheme offers them the equivalent to half a month’s last drawn salary for their remaining months before retirement, plus capped amounts for medical benefits for one year. – The Vibes, July 24, 2023
