THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Pahang has remanded three senior police officers in the state, including a retiree, on suspicion of soliciting and accepting bribes of approximately RM110,000 in return for not interfering with and protecting drug and ketum water trafficking activities around the state.

A seven-day remand order until August 4, 2025 against the three suspects was issued by Magistrate Tan Chiew King after an application was made by the MACC at the Temerloh Magistrate's Court this morning.

According to sources, the three male suspects, aged between 30 and 50, were arrested at about 8.30pm yesterday when they appeared to give statements at the Temerloh MACC office.

"Initial investigations revealed that the four are suspected of abetting the act from 2022 to 2024.

"One of the suspects is believed to have received monthly bribes of between RM4,000 to RM5,000 through money transfer transactions to his personal bank account which was then distributed to the other three suspects via their respective personal bank accounts," said sources.

Meanwhile, Pahang MACC Director Mohd Shukor Mahmud when contacted confirmed the arrests and said that the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009.

He said that another suspect was released on MACC bail after his statement was taken. - July 29, 2025
