THE Immigration Department (JIM) confirmed it had received an application to cancel the international passport of businessman, Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, who is also the son-in-law of former Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Immigration Director-General, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said they received the official application regarding the matter yesterday.
“Already received,” he said briefly when contacted by Buletin TV3, today.
However, he did not comment further on the matter.
Previously, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Tan Sri Azam Baki, informed that they had applied to cancel Muhammad Adlan’s passport as efforts to track him continued.
According to him, the former Prime Minister's son-in-law is believed to be in West Asia but refused to reveal the name of the country.
On August 7, 2023, the MACC was reported to be tracking Muhammad Adlan and a lawyer, Mansoor Saat, 70, to assist in the investigation into the irregularities in a ministry's biometric registration, recruitment and storage project.
The two were identified as having left Malaysia on May 17 and May 21, 2023 respectively.
In October 2023, the then Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, confirmed that a red notice application for Muhammad Adlan and Mansoor had been submitted to the International Police (Interpol). – September 12, 2025
