A MAN is believed to have been stabbed to death by his younger brother who was later found hanging in the bedroom of their rented house in Taman Cempaka 2, Durian Tunggal, Melaka last night.

In the incident at about 7pm, the bodies of the two Bangladeshi brothers were found by their housemates in the kitchen and bedroom.

According to a neighbour,  his family heard them arguing at about 5.50pm before the deceased's housemate returned home.

He said that previously the younger brother often argued with his wife and it was understood that it was because the woman was not allowed to work.

"Perhaps there was an issue between the two brothers that caused him to act like that. Before this, he always greeted us and was friendly," he said.

The bodies of the two brothers who were working at a nearby construction site were brought out by the police at 10.45pm last night after an investigation was carried out by the forensic team.

Meanwhile, Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar confirmed the death and a media statement will be issued soon. – October 15, 2025
