POLICE are looking for a local man to assist in the investigation into the murder of an insurance agent whose body was found in a suitcase behind the Ampang Jajar Flats, Jalan Permatang Pauh in Butterworth on October 9.

North Seberang Perai District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Anuar Abdul Rahman said the man involved has been identified as Ong Wei Hao, 41, with a last address at A-7-07 Villa Tanjung, Jalan Villa Tanjung.

“This man is being traced to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“Anyone with information regarding this man or the case can contact Assistant Superintendent Norhaslinda Rahmat at 04-576 2222 or any nearby police station,” he said in a statement today.

The body of insurance agent Lee Boon Han, 31, was found in a suitcase near a block of flats with slash marks on the neck, hands bound and head was covered in plastic.

He was reported missing on Oct 8 after presumably going to Perlis on a work trip and was found by drain maintenance workers at about 1.43 pm.

Police have since arrested two men and two women, aged 24 to 32, to assist in investigations.

They are under remand until tomorrow.

State Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said that based on the autopsy report obtained from forensic experts at the Penang Hospital (HPP), the victim's cause of death was suffocation. – October 28, 2025
