FORMER Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin made his first appearance at the Umno General Assembly since 2023 today.

Khairy, a former health minister, is attending the Umno Youth General Assembly following an invitation from the current Youth chief, Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

He arrived at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur with Akmal and Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, and several other former Youth chiefs.

Khairy received a warm welcome from Umno members, including Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

Khairy was seen wearing a white baju melayu complete with songkok and red sampin.

The former Rembau MP was also seen embracing Reezal at the building entrance.

This is not Khairy's first time back at the WTCKL since his expulsion; he also appeared as a panellist at an education program organised by Umno Youth in October of last year.

In October, there were reports that he was set to rejoin Umno after obtaining party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s “blessings” to return. - January 15, 2026
