THREE members of the 'Captain Praba Gang' who are wanted for allegedly being involved in an organised crime group were charged at the Sepang Sessions Court today.
They are C Navindren Raj, 38, S Praftifkumar, 30, and S Sridharan, 30.
All the men nodded in understanding after the charges were read out before Judge Ahmad Fuad Othman.
However, there was no plea after the charges were read out through an interpreter in Tamil because the charges under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
According to the charge, they are alleged to have committed the offence between December 2023 and September 11, 2025, at an oil palm plantation in the lane facing Jalan Mahang 2, Kampung Sungai Jarom, Jenjarom in the Kuala Langat district under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code [Act 574].
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutors, Shafiq Hasim, V V Suloshani and Lina Hanini Ismail.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Director, Datuk M Kumar, said the three suspects were arrested in Operation Jack Sparrow by the Bukit Aman JSJ based on an arrest warrant issued by the Sepang Sessions Court on January 14. "The arrests were made on January 28 with the cooperation of local authorities in Mumbai, India, before they were all brought back to Malaysia," he said in a statement.
He said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) expressed its appreciation to the Indian authorities for the close cooperation provided and stressed its continued commitment to upholding the rule of law.
Earlier, the three suspects arrived at about 2.35 pm at the Sepang Sessions Court under tight guard by PDRM JSJ members in full tactical clothing before being escorted into the courtroom.
Earlier, the media reported that the three men involved were arrested in Mumbai, India, last Sunday after acting violently upon arrival in the country.
They acted in this manner after being deported from the United Kingdom (UK) when immigration officers at Manchester Airport, who had been informed of the three individuals' status as 'high-profile criminals', refused them entry.
Following this, all the suspects were flown on a commercial plane under strict security by officers and members of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) before arriving at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this morning.
They were then escorted by a police team and taken to the Sepang District Police Headquarters (IPD) for documentation. – January 28, 2026
