THE Ministry of Transport (MOT) has directed the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to immediately cancel the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence of an e-hailing driver alleged to have sexually harassed a passenger in Johor Bahru.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the revocation means the driver is no longer allowed to operate on any e-hailing platform.

“MOT will not tolerate any behaviour that compromises passenger safety and is prepared to support the victim in ensuring police action is taken against the perpetrator,” he said in a statement reported by Bernama.

Loke said MOT, through the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), will summon all e-hailing operators, including Grab, to present action plans to improve passenger safety.

The media recently reported that police are in the process of identifying an e-hailing driver alleged to have sexually harassed a female passenger, as shown in a video that has gone viral on social media since Sunday.

The viral video is believed to have been recorded by the female passenger, causing the driver’s background to be widely shared on social media. – February 3, 2026
