MELAKA – No cases of Covid-19 have been recorded related to the Melaka Zoo, despite news which has gone viral on Facebook recently, said state Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman.

He said the Melaka Health Department (JKN) had not instructed the people who visited the famous tourist attraction in Ayer Keroh to undergo a screening test.

“What went viral was fake news spread by irresponsible people who want to intimidate the public.

“Most of the cases in the state is not due to local infection but involved those coming or returning from the red zones, some of them did not comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) and infected other people,” he told reporters after monitoring the Covid-19 SOPs at the Melaka Zoo here today. – Bernama, December 31, 2020
