KUALA LUMPUR – There is a cartel in the force that includes younger officers conspiring to remove him, alleged Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador.
He said the group of younger officers are masterminds of a cartel that wants to dominate the country’s security force for personal interest.
“There are efforts by the cartel to disgrace and bring me down.
“I want to advise them to stop these disgusting acts. The police force isn’t ours for the taking, it’s not our playground,” he said in a Sinar Harian event hosted by National Journalism Laureate Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar yesterday.
Hamid was asked to respond to allegations of a cartel within the force planning to take power for themselves to facilitate their criminal activities.
“I’m asking them to repent. It will be too late to do so at 60 years old when we retire, (when) we’ll be back in civilian clothes.
“No one will be afraid of us because we would no longer be in uniform. Don’t regret it then.”
Hamid was appointed IGP on a contract basis after his retirement. His contract ends on May 3.
In the same event, he said the police are willing to expose misconduct and will not compromise in taking action against errant officers.
He added that this shows the force does not protect such officers. – The Vibes, March 18, 2021
