KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) lawmakers met in Parliament at 10am today to discuss the Covid-19 vaccine brief that was supposed to be given to them by the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.

The meeting, chaired by opposition chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was also scheduled to discuss the reconvening of the Dewan Rakyat.

Originally, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had only planned on briefing the respective opposition party heads on the inoculation.

However, after pressure from fellow Umno member and Pekan MP Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the opposition, Khairy relented and agreed to the briefing for all federal lawmakers on the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme.

An aide of Khairy who requested anonymity had pointed out to The Vibes last week of an exchange between his boss and Najib on the latter’s Facebook page.

“Finally, as I said yesterday, a full briefing on the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for all MPs will be held soon. Invitation letters will be sent out this week. So, I hope that Datuk Seri can attend the briefing,” said Khairy in one of his replies to the former prime minister.

“Datuk Seri can ask me directly, and I am ready to answer. After that, Datuk Seri can share the truth of the matter to your readers on Facebook.” he had added. – The Vibes, March 22, 2021
