Sabah sees spike in Covid-19 cases with 202 infections today

KOTA KINABALU – Sabah recorded 202 fresh Covid-19 infections today, up 59 from 143 yesterday.

Sandakan logged 46 new cases and two new clusters, according to Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

The Sabah Covid-19 spokesman via Twitter said Kota Kinabalu recorded 39 new cases – of which almost all are from a school cluster – while Keningau logged 12.

Tawau recorded the highest number of daily infections at 58, he added.

The two clusters in Sandakan are the Jalan Labuk 3 cluster, which logged seven new cases today, and Lorong Mega Jaya cluster (15). 

Speculation is rife on social media that Sandakan will be the third district in Sabah to be imposed with an movement control order after Tawau and Lahad Datu. – The Vibes, April 15, 2021
