KUALA LUMPUR – Daily Covid-19 figures saw a slight drop today but remain in the 5,000s with 5,218 new cases.

The Health Ministry said this takes the nation’s cumulative tally to 739,266.

Of the new cases, only seven are imported.

A total of 57 fatalities were also logged today, taking the death toll to 5,001.

Malaysia saw 4,744 recoveries, as 899 remain in intensive care and 451 require breathing support.

Selangor, while still topping infections nationwide, saw its number drop out of the 2,000s by logging 1,989 infections in the past 24 hours, followed by Negri Sembilan (629), Kuala Lumpur (469), Sarawak (409), Perak (400), Sabah (258) and Johor (243).

States that recorded fewer than 200 cases are Kedah with 194, Melaka (183), Pahang (111), Labuan (108), Kelantan (101), Penang (88), Terengganu (23), Putrajaya (8) and Perlis (5).

There are a total of 2,794 clusters nationwide, of which 880 are active and 22 are new, while another 1,914 clusters were snuffed out.

In Selangor, there were four new clusters: Industri Waja Dua with 29 cases; Industri Jalan Laksamana Satu (29); Industri Jalan Dolomite Dua (6); and Tapak Bina Lingkaran Eco Majestic (24).

In Kuala Lumpur, there were three new clusters: Tapak Bina Jalan Wangsa 2 (23); Tapak Bina Jalan Kiara Tujuh (11); and Tapak Bina Jalan Kasipillay (18).

In Johor, two clusters were found: Jalan Tanjung Puteri Satu (6); and Jalan Kebun Bakri (9).

Similarly, there were two new clusters found in Negri Sembilan as well as in Melaka: Industri Persiaran Bunga Tanjung Satu (16) and Industri Bunga Tanjung Dua (26); and Industri Teknologi Cheng 22 (36) and Business City (23) respectively.

There was one new cluster each in Kedah and in Kelantan: at Dah Sembilan Industri Sg Petani (18); and at Bandar Baru Lubok Jong (7) respectively. – The Vibes, June 28, 2021
