Its director, Norazam Khamis, said the department received a distress call at 7.55pm, following which a team of firemen from the Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue station rushed to the scene to rescue the victims, aged between 16 and 20.

When the fire team arrived at 8.27pm, only seven of them were still trapped, as two had been able to swim across the river to safety, he said in a statement today. – Bernama, September 18, 2021
