KOTA KINABALU – A Sabah group is calling on the health authorities not to vaccinate children without getting permission and consent from their parents.
The yet-to-be-officially-named group’s spokesman, Naomi @ Neomi Francis, 55, said children should not be discriminated against for refusing to get the Covid-19 jabs by not allowing them to return to schools.
“The parents’ biggest concern is the side effects of the vaccine on our young ones. We don’t know whether it could be fatal for children.
“We also do not want our children to be separated in classes or instructed not to go to schools,” said Francis, speaking on behalf of some 300 parents in the state.
Francis, who also works as a food caterer at the Ranau market, is also challenging the local district council in court over the validity of the order to foreclose businesses of unvaccinated operators.

She described these folk as pro-life individuals who refuse to get the jab, saying it is their constitutional right to not be vaccinated.
Francis also said the federal government should stop trying to garner parents’ consent to have their children volunteer for vaccine trials.
Last week, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Malaysia has been selected as one of the locations for the Sinovac vaccine trial for children below 12.
Recently, Khairy also affirmed that Putrajaya will go ahead with the procurement of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to 12 following the United States Food and Drug Administration’s endorsement of its use on children.
