KUALA LUMPUR – Countless efforts to help flood victims have emerged online and similarly, Muda announced in a press statement today that it has managed to raise a staggering RM1,045,600 in donations in less than 100 hours for its Flood Victims Relief movement.
The Flood Victims Relief was launched on December 18 with the goal of helping more than 10,000 families affected by the recent flash floods.
The money, which was all donated by Malaysians, will be utilised for rescue missions for more flood victims, purchasing basic necessities and personal hygiene items, food as well as to clean up the aftermath of the floods.
The statement ensured that all the proceeds will be used only for flood victims, and that the transparency and integrity of fund management will be maintained.
“Every ringgit and sen donated will 100% be used for the flood victims.
“These contributions will also go through an audit process to ensure the transparency and integrity of money management is maintained,” Muda said.
It added that it had launched the Volunteer Call programme for those interested in helping out in flooded areas.
In addition, Muda expressed its gratitude to everyone, including those from the Muda Flood Mission Committee and Muda members nationwide who had lent a hand.
