KUALA LUMPUR – Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said police arrested 456 individuals yesterday for breaching rules under the recovery movement control order (RMCO).

Through a press release, the minister said 455 individuals were issued compound fines and one was remanded.

The offences include the failure to wear face masks, activities which made physical distancing difficult, and failure to provide materials for contact tracing registration.

2,911 compliance task force teams have been deployed to conduct inspections on 16,785 supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories, banks, government offices, as well as land, water and air transport terminals.

In addition, police caught 25 illegal immigrants and confiscated nine vehicles as part of Ops Benteng.

On mandatory home quarantine orders, the minister said 61,612 people who arrived through KLIA were screened for Covid-19 from July 24 to November 5, before being placed in quarantine. 384 tested positive and were sent to hospital for treatment, while 51,916 were allowed to return home. – The Vibes, November 6, 2020
