KUALA LUMPUR – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has ordered his lawyers to take legal action against Kangar MP Noor Amin Ahmad and Adam Mukhriz – an aide to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

This follows a viral screenshot of a post allegedly made by Najib on his Facebook page that cryptically said “selamat jalan?” (safe travels?), on the same day it was reported that former two-time prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had been admitted to the National Heart Institute’s cardiac care unit.

In response to the accusations levied towards him by Amin and Adam, Najib said he had shown his Facebook activity log as proof of how he had not made the post in question.

“They accused me, and I denied. I even complied when they asked me to show my Facebook activity log to prove that I did not post ‘selamat jalan?’.

“But they refuse to apologise, because they claim that the activity log can be edited.

“Weird, activity logs can be edited, but screenshots cannot be edited?” he asked sarcastically, adding that his legal team will be taking action against them unless they issue a public apology and remove their posts discrediting Najib by today.

“To satisfy them, I will be suing them so that my lawyers can present in court the original activity logs.

“It is hard to believe that at a time when Atuk (Dr Mahathir) is sick, they can still manage to slander me in such a way just to politicise matters,” Najib said. – The Vibes, January 24, 2022
