KUALA LUMPUR – Heavy rain this afternoon has resulted in another flash flood in disaster-struck Taman Sri Muda in Shah Alam.

Several netizens shared footage and images of water rising to ankle level in parts of the township.

A Twitter user, who goes by the name Roymondasz, lamented the situation in a response to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

“Sir, Taman Sri Muda, especially along Jalan Tokoh 25/28, is flooding again. What is the state government’s action? It needs immediate solutions. Enough already!” the user told Amirudin.

Other netizens shared posts of the latest floods that raised the spectre of the calamity that struck in late December.

Meanwhile, the Department of Drainage and Irrigation’s information forecast dissemination testing Twitter account, Mi-SOS Community, reported 45.5mm rainfall in Taman Sri Muda within a span of one hour as at 3.45pm today.

Kota Kemuning assemblyman Ganabatirau Veraman told The Vibes that the rising waters were likely due to clogged drainage in the area.

“I was made to understand it was partly due to drainage clogged with debris.” – The Vibes, January 24, 2022
