KOTA BARU – The Kelantan Legislative Assembly has agreed on a special RM40 million allocation to help residents hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, said Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

“However, the method and implementation (of aid distribution) will be specified later and refined by the relevant excos so that it can be channelled to the targeted groups smoothly,” the menteri besar told reporters here today after launching the 2020 Hari Kelantanku Bersih cleanliness campaign.

At the event, he handed over 13 waste compactor trucks and four lorries costing RM5 million to local authorities as part of the government's commitment to beautify the state.

Ahmad confirmed the implementation notice for additional standard operating procedures against Covid-19, effective yesterday.

The notice directs business premises to be closed by 11.30pm, while petrol stations and grocery shops are allowed to operate till midnight.

Social events, including wedding receptions, are restricted to 150 guests, with police to be informed five days prior. All contact sports and training are prohibited. – Bernama, November 19, 2020
