PUTRAJAYA – Malaysia today recorded 1,041 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths, said the Health Ministry.
The three deaths are in Sabah, including one non-Malaysian.
The two others were locals aged 62 and 78. One had a history of diabetes, obesity and a chronic kidney disease, while the other had high blood pressure.
The other deceased was a 55-year-old foreign woman who suffered from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 402, while Sabah has 346, Negri Sembilan (121), Kuala Lumpur (68) and Johor (33).
Cumulatively, the country has recorded a total of 53,679 cases, with 12,854 active cases.
Johor, Labuan and Selangor also recorded three new clusters today.
In Selangor, the Penjara Jalan Harapan cluster involves Sg Buloh Prison with 17 positive cases after 113 individuals were screened.
The Kota Kecil cluster detected in Kota Tinggi, Johor has nine positive cases after 467 people were screened. All nine cases have been admitted to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom, Kluang.
Meanwhile, Sky Coklat cluster in Labuan recorded seven cases after 51 people were screened.
Meanwhile, Malaysia today recorded its highest number of recoveries at 1,405. Most were in the Klang Valley (657), followed by Sabah (369) and Negri Sembilan (283). – The Vibes, November 21, 2020
