KOTA BARU – On the first day the conditional movement control order (CMCO) was enforced in Kelantan yesterday, state police found many claimed they were unaware of order.

Kelantan police chief Shafien Mamat said this could be due to the CMCO announcement being made on a public holiday in the state.

However, he said police are urging Kelantan folk to comply with the stipulated standard operating procedure (SOPs) and obtain a letter from their employer or police for cross-district travel.

He also called on the people to be patient at roadblocks, which may increase travel time.

“We have to inspect each vehicle wishing to cross districts,” he said.

“But the police will provide a special lane for frontliners and emergencies at each roadblock,” he said in a statement today. – Bernama, November 22, 2020
