KOTA KINABALU – Lahad Datu MP Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi is expected to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) in a planned announcement tomorrow.

Mohamaddin, who is also Segama assemblyman, quit Bersatu on June 28, citing requests for development in his constituencies were constantly ignored by state Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Md Noor.

An invite to the announcement has been shared and PBM president Datuk Larry Sng is also expected to attend.

Former tourism, arts and culture minister Mohamaddin won his parliamentary seat under the Warisan ticket in 2018 and left to be an independent candidate on October 30, 2021.

By November 26, he joined Bersatu but left on June 28 this year, saying he was not given a role in the party.

“I am disappointed not to be given any role because I think Bersatu feels it is already a strong party in Lahad Datu and in Segama. So, there is no need for me to stay on in Bersatu as they don’t see a need for me,” he had said.

On June 9, PBM also welcomed Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin into its fold and announced that she would be the party’s president-designate. – The Vibes, August 27, 2022
