KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong today was a regular pre-cabinet meeting, according to Istana Negara.

In a brief post on the palace’s Facebook page, the meeting discussed “matters of administration and issues related to government”.

“The pre-cabinet meeting is one of His Majesty’s weekly activities or main routines,” the post read.

Ismail Sabri arrived at Istana Negara at 3.50pm today and was seen departing less than an hour later.

This comes as the nation has been on edge awaiting news of the potential dissolution of Parliament to make way for the 15th general election (GE15).

The Vibes learnt that Ismail Sabri had met with Umno’s top four leaders – president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, vice-presidents Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid and Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin – before going to the palace.

Ismail Sabri is also an Umno vice-president.

It is also learnt that the prime minister again held a meeting with the aforementioned Umno leaders after his royal audience.

Meanwhile, Armed Forces chief Gen Tan Sri Affendi Buang and his retinue arrived before 3pm at Gate 2 for an audience with the king. – The Vibes, October 6, 2022
